Finishhheeddd

We finished blocking pool (no water) today, oooohh how exciting, it's all coming together. We're preparing for a run through on Wednesday which should be good cause we'll know how the play feels when it's all put together.

Bit Scary though, can imagine we'll be absolutely knackered when we realise how close all the physical bits are to each other.

Get buying those tickets and watch us ;)

Today at the Civic Service rehearsal I had a really good time and there's nothing I like better than the smile and giggles on Lucy's face when I do my famous Partridge impression! - Rowan

Midnight is a place...

A Victorian tale of two young children discovering their ancestry past and trying to claim an inheritance that is rightfully theirs.
This charming story of a growing friendship between Lucas and Anna-Marie is a gloomy yet funny and uplifting adventure with original music and is just what you would expect from a forest forge production!
With a small cast of only four the actors were required to multi-role, changing their costume and physicality for each character.
I think that the actors did exceptionally well in coping with the frequent changes making it clear to that audience who they were. Not only did they have to remember loads of lines they also performed musical numbers and worked very well with the set, which was fantastically designed with different doors/windows to help with location changes.
Midnight is a place made me laugh and smile many times and I think it is a perfect play for the whole family! If you've not seen it yet please try to get tickets, I promise you wont regret it.

Select Delete

1 more page to go! The select delete looked really good yesterday :) and i like that we went from round by through into select delete. That is all. (for now)

Its Party Time

The party scene in the play is coming along nicely. We are using two frantic assembly techniques, round by through and select delete, these gradually build to create the raucous energy that our characters are feeling whilst trying to empower themselves.

needless to say we where all puffed out at the end of it.

Twelve Days of Christmas Youth Street Theatre

Twelve Days of Christmas Street Theatre Performance was such fun! Although VERY cold and VERY wet, the late night shoppers quite enjoyed watching the Youth Theatre being birds such as Partridges, Turtle Doves, Hens, Geese and more!
We all find it very fun and exciting going out into town and showing off our Theatre skills.
Why don't you come and see us performing whether its in the town or in our studio! You never know, you might be inspired.

meeting in progress!

So Close

 We're so nearly there!!!

We cracked through a good 3 pages of the script today... how great is that? 2 pages till the end. It's all getting very exciting now.

Among much singing, lifting and set routines there are moments of real stillness, hopefully this is all working beautifully :)

But what is this I hear? There are tickets still available? No way! .... Quick best buy them now before they all run out .... see poster below for all the details.

See you in January. Where we'll lead you through the darkness.

Pool (No Water)

So the first show we shall be blogging about is Group 5's (Group MASSIVE) Pool (No Water) by Frantic Assembly and written by Mark Ravenhill.
"A famous artist invites her old friends to her luxurious new home. For one night only, the group is back together. But celebrations come to an abrupt end when the host suffers a horrific accident."

11th October 2012
One of our first rehearsals involved a lot of questions and a lot of honest answers. Oh and a discussion about sleeping!
At the end of this rehearsal we found out that star-fishing was the most popular sleeping position!

But how on earth can sleeping positions be relevant to a show about a  Pool?!
The next stage of our rehearsals was to experiment with the sleeping positions. Here is the magic in the making...
